A 43-year-old man was fatally shot at a rural property in Mohaka, near Wairoa this morning.
Police and ambulance were called to the address just before 11am after receiving reports that somebody had been shot. Soon after, Police arrested a 62-year-old man.
The victim suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance staff.
Police believe the victim and the offender are known to each other, therefore they aren't looking for anyone else in connection to the incident.
