In Hastings, 33-year-old Iriheke Te Kani Manu Pere was accidentally shot by an Armed Offender Squad officer (AOS) last night.
Pere is in a stable but serious condition in Wellington Hospital. A firearm was found in his house and confiscated by police but they're taking the matter seriously and two investigations are underway.
