Te Matapihi, who are no strangers to the Aotea Regional competition, come to the 2014 event for their 9th appearance at this level.
They take to the stage with heavy hearts, after losing their beloved leader, Jacinda Patea, affectionately known as 'Aunty Dolly', as recent as late March 2014.
They made a strong bid at the last Te Matatini competition in Rotorua, and firmly cemented their presence at both regional and national levels.
And today was no different, their leaders today are Pepe Shanell Wallace and Tona Simon, and the group is tutored by Kahurangi Simon.
