Aspiring Māori netball players step-up

At only 16, Mila Reuelu-Buchanan has already represented NZ in touch, but she has other goals in her sights.

Mila is the captain of the Wellington U17 team and with some explosive talent on-court, including Irene van Dyk's daughter, Bianca, the team is certainly one to watch.

The Wellington U19 side is also at strength with defender Te Aumihi Jones taking the court.

Te Aumihi has been a regular in the Wellington rep teams and is backing her region to have some strong performances at the Nationals. Te Aumihi being of only 17 years of age, she has high hopes for the future.

“To go all the way you know, to get to the ANZ and maybe the Silver Ferns just work hard.”

The age-group Nationals will be held next month in Dunedin and Auckland.
