Auckland primary first to use new Govt tech initiative

Having better and faster computer technology is no longer just a dream, it's a reality.

“Network for Learning” means unlimited data, and receiving it 10 times faster than the school's previous internet speed.

According to Minister of Education Hekia Parata, “A lot of schools who put their names forward say they are ready for this.”

Decile 4 school Massey Primary is the first to access the new government initiative.

By the end of the first term next year, 100 schools will be connected to Network for Learning.

The Education Minister's work today didn't end at Massey Primary, she also went on to Manurewa Intermediate.

Parata released information on the educational performance and outcomes of Pasifika students from early childhood through to NCEA.

Parata says the statistics will help achieve better outcomes for Pasifika children and their families.
