Auckland retains U19 Boys National title for another year

Auckland have defended their U19 National Boys Softball title with an 8-nil victory over Wellington in the final.

Auckland won all their games in the competition, easily winning the title for 2016.

It was a battle between the two giants of the game in the North Island.  Defending champions Auckland in blue, took on Wellington in the final.

Auckland was strong from the start, showing their ambition to win this final and scoring two runs in the first inning and three runs in the third. 
 
A few mistakes from Wellington cost the team dearly.  While Auckland found it easy to score runs.

Auckland's pitcher Daniel Chapman was named top pitcher of the competition. In the final he showed just why.

The top catcher was Jerome MacKenzie also from Auckland, who teamed well with Chapman.

Despite the score, Wellington continued to give everything they had, putting their bodies on the line.

In the end, Auckland were too strong for Wellington, winning 8-0 overall and defending their title for yet another year.
