Auckland U15s take on Wellington

In the U15 National League competition, it's the first time the Auckland Development side has been included in this national tournament.

Undefeated over two days, they played Wellington today in one of the tightest matches of the tournament so far.

The Auckland Development side is known as the third top Auckland team in this competition.
This is their first time in the tournament.

At first, they were included to make eight teams in the tournament, but have shown they're not a team to take lightly.  Yet to be beaten, they played Wellington today.

The Wellington Orcas came out strong, scoring the first try of the match.

Auckland stuck close and always came back to equalise, going into the half 12-all.

The Orcas were again the first to score and were two tries in front.

But it was the Auckland development side who had the never-say-die attitude, scoring two unanswered tries and sealing the victory with a drop goal to win 25-20.

The competition will continue tomorrow with finals on Friday.
