Auckland welcomes Nines stars

On the eve of the inaugural Auckland Nines Competition, all 16 NRL Clubs contesting the Nines title were welcomed to Aotea Centre, which was hosted by Auckland Mayor Len Brown with corporate sponsor, Dick Smith.

This was an opportunity to give the visitors a "big Kiwi welcome" and queue for autographs from their favourite players. Thousands of people from all over Auckland turned out to meet more than 250 players like Cowboys' player James Tamou, Roosters' centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall and Kevin Proctor from the Storm that will take the field this weekend.
