CanTeen kicks off annual 'Never Alone' appeal

CanTeen's mission is to support, develop, and empower young people living with cancer through a national peer support network. Today, a three-legged challenge held in Auckland was held to kick off CanTeen's annual 'Never Alone' appeal.

With no Government funding, CanTeen relies on the generosity of Kiwis to allow the organisation to continue supporting young people living with cancer.

Silver Fern and CanTeen ambassador Maria Tutaia says this organisation should be funded.

“We’re obviously not funded by the Govt so we rely on the generosity of others.  Govt funding will be great and would make it so much easier.”

This is just one of many fundraising activities happening across the country in the next two weeks, which will be a busy time for Tutaia as the Silver Ferns come back into camp next Monday to prepare for their next competition against Australia next month.
