Chch mum sleeps in tent to highlight housing crisis

Nellie and her three children slept in a tent last night, while Māori wardens kept watch.

Numerous people have offered them accommodation, but Nellie is steadfast in her goal to bring the housing crisis of Christchurch to the attention of officials.

Nellie was invited to a meeting with council officials at their central offices.

With a positive outcome, James Hadlee, a council housing official, successfully located suitable accommodation for the Hunt family.

Nellie and her children will be moving into new accommodation soon, and she hopes the Govt will wake up to calls for support from families in Christchurch.
