Chiefs take part in Great Ōpōtiki Raft Race

The Gallagher Chiefs bandwagon has rolled in to Ōpōtiki.  With the team looking to test locals at one of the town's biggest events on the community calendar, the Great Ōpōtiki Raft Race.

Creativity, genius and skill is what's needed to keep the Chiefs afloat in Ōpōtiki today.

Today was all about competitiveness on day two of the Gallagher Chiefs Summer Roadtrip.  Nearly 80 paddlers turned out for the regions Great Raft Race.

The main goal for the team is to promote the sport in the Māori regions around the country.

For one Māori player in particular, he's learning to find his way on his own.

The Chiefs wagon continues its journey until the end of the week.

To spread the word about the side before their first pre-season clash against the Waratahs in two weeks time.
