Chump Change challenges MPs

Māori MPs have helped raised nearly $10,000 for the Child Cancer Foundation.

Nanaia Mahuta and her fellow MPs have been training for the past 12 weeks under the Chump change initiative to fundraise and promote better health.

However, raising money wasn't the only success.

Nanaia has learnt a lot after losing a total of 18kg through this challenge.

Nanaia says, “there have been lots of ups and downs but no matter what, I've started this journey and I've found the strength to keep training.”

Te Ururoa Flavell thought the hardest thing for him would be finding the time to train.

“You’ll find the time if you're heart's in it, that's the good thing about this event, it gives you the courage to do what's in your heart.”

This Chump change challenge may have come to an end, but Nanaia says she'll continue to follow the path of healthy living.
