Commercial flights across NZ grounded due to radar fault

Commercial flights across New Zealand were grounded due to a radar fault. Transport Minister Simon Bridges says he'd been advised of the radar outage, he has been assured that there has been no compromise to the safety of passengers and crew.

All flights that were in the air during the time of the outage, were cleared to land safely.

At present, the cause of the nationwide radar outage is unknown.

Labour MP Jacinda Ardern recently tweeted that Air New Zealand was boarding flights from Auckland to Dunedin.

Auckland Airport has just announced that Airways New Zealand has fixed the radar fault, and that flights are now starting to resume departures.
