The NZ DMC Championships commence this weekend in Wellington and Auckland, where some of this country's hottest DJs and turntablists battle it out for the chance to head to the world championships in London.

Kohupātiki Marae in Clive is home for Jay. He draws inspiration from his roots, his older brother who is also a DJ, and home-grown bands like his favourite New Zealand band, Kora.
Jay is busy polishing his set for the DMC regional competition this weekend, where some of the country's best turntablists will compete for the chance to head to the world championships in London.
