Education Minister wants charter schools out

Charter Schools are set to be scrapped if a bill that was introduced by Education Minister Chris Hipkins is passed.

The Labour Government have been strongly opposed to the alternative education system, however, Māori MPs like Kelvin Davis and Willie Jackson have been known to support the schools.

Charter schools were introduced by the National Party seven years ago when they were in Government. Political reporter Heta Gardiner will have more tonight on Te Kāea.
