An employment expo is being held at Auckland Regional Women's Corrections Facility to support prisoners with future education and training opportunities.
With about 2000 prisoners being released annually, one of Corrections' main objectives is to reduce re-offending.
Last year, Corrections also launched the Women's Strategy, aimed at addressing the distinct needs of women in prison.
Women make up 7% of New Zealand's prison population.
