The fight against kauri dieback continues

Waking tracks in the Waitākere Ranges could be off-limits to the public if an Auckland Council vote passes today.

Volunteers are meeting with the council to discuss tougher measures to combat kauri dieback disease.

Mana whenua representatives will explain reasons why the tracks should be closed after a rāhui was placed in the area.

The council is also looking at closing high-risk tracks in the Hunua Ranges.
