Flava's Full Phat Breakfast Crew read Te Kāea bulletin for Māori Language Week

The Full Phat Breakfast at Flava is known as one of the best breakfast radio shows in the country but how do they rate at reading te reo Māori?

Rahia Timutimu took Dr Fane, Pete da Palagi, Tarsh Ieremia and their producer Eru P through a reading of Te Kāea in celebration of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori.

They're known as one of the most hilarious and most listened to breakfast shows in the country.

To celebrate Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, Pete Marsden, David Fane and Tash Ieremia were welcomed to Māori Television to see if reading the news in te reo Māori is hard or not.

Pete was fortunate to learn some reo from Stacey Morrison, so how did he do?

“It was scary.  You have this big green screen behind you and people watching you like you're an attraction.”

Tash was the second person to give it a go and read with ease, even when Pete tried to put her off.

Dave tried a different approach and changed his voice to that of an old man, to sound more senior.

“It was a bit daunting, but everything good in the world is frightening and daunting.”

Their producer Eru then showed them how it's done.

Way to go guys!
