Global appeal launched in support of Savalalo Markets in Samoa

An official global appeal has launched in support of the popular Savalalo Markets that were destroyed by fire last week in Apia, Samoa.

The market was completely burned to the ground, with most stall holders and vendors losing their livelihood.

An account has been set up for the global Samoan and non-Samoan communities to make a donation that will go directly towards those affected.

Most of the people who ran stalls are uninsured, making it difficult and challenging for them to restart. For a lot of families, the Savalalo Markets was their main source of income.

It is hoped that the Savalalo Market Fundraising Appeal will help them get back on their feet.
