Hewitt extends helping hand to Guildford

Norm Hewitt is still willing to work with Zac Guildford to overcome his problems with alcohol.

The pair had arranged to meet before Guildford's latest incident, but the troubled winger didn't turn up.  Hewitt's had his own problems with alcohol.  In 1999, he broke into the wrong Queenstown hotel room.

Guildford has played 10 tests for the All Blacks, and has withdrawn indefinitely from the Crusaders for this year's Super Rugby season after an incident at a Christchurch party on Jan 12 where he allegedly punched another party-goer.
