Iwi Working Group formed following Māori Fisheries Review

A Working Group has been formed to work with Iwi on recommendations in a review of the Māori Fisheries Structures.

Te Ohu Kaimoana Trustee Limited have appointed nine people to the Iwi Working Group which includes Jamie Tuuta, Mark Ngata, Hinerangi Raumati, Naida Glavish, Rob McLeod, Craig Ellison, Tom McClurg, Ngahiwi Tomoana and Rangimarie Hunia.

According to the Iwi Working Group Chairman, Jamie Tuuta “the focus of the group is to ensure iwi are well informed about the review’s recommendations and the implications for the Māori Fisheries Settlement assets.”

Iwi will be asked to vote on the recommendations at a Special General Meeting to be held on 4 June.
