Jobs sustained in Kawerau site expansion

Today is marking a new era for Kawerau in a bid to keep jobs local.

The SCA hygiene Australasia's Kawerau site will be expected to dispatch 126 forty-foot containers a week with Purex, Handee and Tork paper.

The expansion of this site has helped them achieve that number and according to Prime Minister, John Key we have to keep up productivity.

“There's been 65,000 jobs created in the last few years under the National Government, 17,000 people went off the benefit last year and 1500 people week leave welfare and go into work.”

$60mil has been invested into this project maintaining two hundred jobs in Kawerau.

The increase of productivity will lift by 2015, but for Kawerau in general this has done a lot to lift the morale of the people.
