Junior Tall Ferns ready to take on World Qualifiers in Fiji

The Junior Tall Ferns have been in camp since Sunday, in preparation for the FIBA Oceania World Qualifying Tournament in Fiji that begins next Monday.

The squad has been together for a year and this Friday, the final team of 10 players will be chosen.

Training twice a day, these young women are vying for a place in the Junior Tall Ferns team.

They may be friends off court, but every player knows only 10 players will be selected this Friday.

Te Kāea has been following this camp for just over a year, last year a group of 40 girls were vying for a place in this side, now it's the end of the trials.

The girls have come from all over the country, Australia and even America. Jessica Renata is currently living in America but is happy to be trialling for NZ.

The 10 players will fly to Fiji on Sunday to compete at the FIBA Oceania World Qualifying Tournament, to qualify for the World Championships held in Russia next year.
