Kelvin Davis continues march against sexual violence

Labour MP Kelvin Davis and a small team of campaigners against sexual violence continue their two-week march from Auckland to the top of the North Island. Despite their fight against the elements, rain showers haven’t dampened spirits.

So far they have walked 70km and by the end of their walk, they would have travelled a total distance of 430km.

Kelvin Davis says, “Our goal, even though it's only day three and we have 14 days to go, we are still in high spirits about our march to benefit all communities around the country.”

They have just reached Warkworth and hope to reach Te Hana by the afternoon.

“Once we get to Whangarei, there'll be a large gathering at the Whangarei library. I hope there's a big turnout of people to show their support. That's what's ahead of us now,” says Davis.

There are 11 days before Kelvin and his group must reach Cape Reinga but for now, they're just taking it one step at a time.
