Maisey Rika calls on all-star cast of Māori musicians to record new album

Māori singer/songwriter Maisey Rika will this Friday release ‘Tira’, a collection of 10 carefully selected songs that Rika says are close to her heart.

Rika, who is based in Whakatāne, says “I am so grateful to have worked with such an array of amazingly talented and unique artist friends on ‘Tira’, such as Hato Hohepa, Hinewehi Mohi, Troy Kingi, Tama Waipara, Seth Haapu, Beau Monga and The Modern Maori Quartet – stringed together with Mahuia Bridgman-Cooper and Oliver Harmer at the helm of the recording desk of The Lab Studios.”

'Tira' encapsulates both haka and soul music and, together with more recent creations, Rika hopes that this collection of songs is suited for occasions all year round.

Tira’ releases November 25th in all music stores, The Warehouse, JB HiFi and online at maiseyrikamusic.bandcamp.com
