Two Maketu sisters stole the taste buds of the NZ Masterchef judges with their Maori-inspired cuisine, and now are living their culinary dreams.
For the past two months the Nation has watched Kasey and Karena Bird battle out on screen to become NZ’s new Masterchefs.
They will take home $100,000 worth of prizes, including two cars, kitchen appliances, kitchenware and groceries, as well as an exclusive cookbook deal. And last night they were readying for themselves for the hard work ahead.
The pair never thought they would come out on top, but believe through the support of the masses, they were able to achieve their dreams.
There's no doubting the duo can create success with their hands, but we will have to wait and see whether or not they keep rising in the world of culinary delights.
