Man charged for murdering Campbell Paterson

David Hickson has been charged for murdering Campbell Paterson in North Queensland, Australia.  Paterson's remains were found in a chilly bin a week after he was reported missing in Cairns.

The man charged for murdering Campbell Paterson is 32-year-old, David Hickson.

The Queensland Police believe that Campbell died at a Cairns residence and are hoping to wrap up the investigation of this heinous murder.

Police believe Mr Paterson was killed there after being stabbed once.  He was then stuffed into a chilly bin and dumped in bush 30km away, his body was found by Police two weeks later.

The family still await the return home of Paterson's remains to his hometown in Ngāti Kahungunu, Maraenui.

One of Paterson's sons took a photo yesterday honouring his father as a great artist and tattooist.

People from around the country have reached out via Facebook to Paterson's family, including his children who also posted messages to their dad.

His daughter said, "Love you dad, you are now in the hands of our Lord."

Hickson will appear in court again on December 17.
