Te Hāmua Nikora of the Mana Party has congratulated Meka Whaitiri and says he is happy to see that in a race with some talented and strong contenders he managed to come in second.
The Mana Party candidate followed Meka Whaitiri as results were counted throughout the night. Behind the Mana Party was the Māori Party’s Nā Raihania.
While unsuccessful in this campaign Te Hāmua says he will stand again for the Ikaroa-Rāwhiti seat in the next election.
