Māori business delegates in China

Prime Minister John Key and a NZ business delegation featuring Māori have arrived in China hoping to capitalise on the region's quick growth, which has seen exports triple since the signing of the free trade agreement five years ago.

PM Key met the new Chinese president, Xi Jinping, at the Boao Forum in China yesterday.  It was PM Key's first formal bilateral meeting
with the new president since Xi Jinping was officially elected last month and they've committed to strengthening the political and trade relationship between NZ and China.  In 2012, total two-way trade totalled NZ$14.6bil.

Māori Affairs Minister, Dr Pita Sharples is also on the trip with a group of influential Māori business leaders who are hoping Māori will also be able to capitalise.  Our reporter, Maiki Sherman, is with the delegation.
