Māori innovation in business integral to future success

With a 42 billion dollar economy, and 1.2 billion in PSGE assets, FOMA Executive Chair Traci Houpapa says Māori need to be innovative in business to add value to those assets.

In the past week the value of Maori assets has been discussed in depth, but Traci Houpapa says the biggest challenge for iwi and hapū is to secure a seat at the table where decisions over trade agreements between Māori and others are being made.

Te Kāea reporter Ripeka Timutimu spoke with her in Singapore about the important and integral role Māori can play in trade.

She was also joined by the Prime Minister John Key to discuss his perspective on the role of Māori in the future of international export and trade.
