A prayer kicks off every Mighty Mini Midgets training session and while they are small in stature they have an enormous drive for success at the upcoming Waka Ama Nationals.
For many of the girls this is their third year paddling together so they know all about being competitive and while young they are very real in their expectations for the competition next week. The team has its sites set on Huntly and are hoping to give them a run for their money, while they are the reigning champions the Midgets are hoping they have the power to take them out this year.
It’s very easy to see the drive in these youngsters but one thing their coach is big on is building the strength they have through training in an effort to assist the girls in overcoming their own personal obstacles. In their last training session all the children in the team paid huge respect to their parents and the support that they have had since the beginning of their journey into the world of waka ama.
