New York Fashion Week kicked off with a Māori flavour, with performer, Mika, taking centre stage.
Some designers around the world have been using Māori patterns in their work, which has upset some in the NZ fashion industry, Mika says he simply doesn't care.
He says it comes as no surprise that other designers copy Māori works, and that it's the very reason Māori have been successful on the world stage.
