More schools qualify for 2016 Secondary Kapa Haka Nationals

By the end of last week, three regions had completed their Secondary Schools Kapa Haka regional competitions to see who will be representing them at the nationals to be held at the Pettigrew Arena in Hawke's Bay next July.

Te Arawa, Aotea and Te Awakairangi ki Wairarapa have now put their best teams forward.

Many Māori secondary school students across Aotearoa have been preparing, for not only the kapa haka regionals, but also for their respective Ngā Manu Kōrero Speech competitions.  Also, for students from the Aotea region, they've had to deal with the recent flooding that hit Whanganui last week.  It's safe to say Term 2 has been full on for these students, who will no doubt be looking forward to a well-deserved break this school holidays next week.

Here are the results for the three regions:

TE ARAWA -

4th - Iti Rearea
3rd - Rōpū Manaaki
2nd - Raukura
1st - Ngā Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Puku o Te Ika
