National supporters celebrate

A triumphant John Key was celebrated by supporters with a haka by students of Auckland Boys Grammar School

While polls leading up to elections and a range of controversial announcements and campaigning showed National losing support they have managed to come out on top with voters giving them 61 seats in Parliament and the ability to Govern alone.

Current results show Labour will only hold 32 seats in Parliament while the Greens will have 13 and NZ First no longer sit as the Kingmakers with 11 seats in Parliament.

The Māori Party has lost a seat and now holds 2 seats in Parliament.
