Nationwide campaign against TPPA

A number of hīkoi and meetings have been organised all over the country, highlighting public opposition to the government signing the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA).

One of the biggest protests will take place in Auckland on February 4 which coincide with the signing date for the TPPA. Thousands are expected to meet at Aotea square at 12pm.

Organisers It's Our Future says the march will be loud, colourful, family friendly and inclusive of everyone.

Other upcoming events include a hīkoi in Wellington on the January 30 from Waitangi Park to the Government House.

Protests have also been organised for January 30 in Christchurch and Dunedin.

International TPPA experts Lori Wallach and Professor Jane Kelsey have also been running a nationwide tour called “TPPA Don’t sign”.

They will talk about the latest research, politics, analysis and actions to the people of Wellington on January 27, and move on to Christchurch on January 28.
