Native Affairs - Interview with David Taipari

A report released this month by the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research shows that Māori are increasingly becoming big players in the Auckland business scene.

Māori entities and businesses have an asset base worth $23 billion in Auckland alone representing about 5% of the city's total economy.  55% of all Māori assets are based in Auckland and Māori contribute $4 billion to the city's GDP.

These assets are concentrated in real estate, financial and insurance services and IT.  27% of New Zealand's Māori economy is in Auckland.
