Next month, NZ Veterans will commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Cassino.
Historian Dr Monty Soutar and our reporter Adrian Stevanon travelled to Italy to film a special documentary about this famous battle and the NZ involvement in the Italian campaign of WWII.
The documentary will air this Friday at 7am as part of the Māori Television's ANZAC coverage.
But while they were in Italy, they found time to visit some significant sights of the Māori Battalion.
