As a young man, Peter Firmin joined the Army filled with big dreams, putting his bush skills to good use as a soldier to travel the world and then one day return to Whanganui to run the family farm.
But an injury sustained while serving as a soldier overseas, threw his career and those dreams out the window and cut-short his time in uniform.
What he didn't know then, was that he'd still be at war when he returned home, but this time against his former employer and The Accident Compensation Corporation.
