Ngāti Porou Rūnanga Chief Executive resigns

The Chief Executive of Te Runanganui o Ngāti Porou, Dean Moana has resigned.

Moana took up the role as CEO for the Rūnanga earlier this year, but a statement issued yesterday said he was resigning due to personal reasons.

In April the announcement that Moana had been appointed CEO was made and he replaced outgoing Chief Executive at the time Teepa Wawatai who had held the position since October 2013.

He had previously held roles with international construction companies, Ernst & Young accounting and Te Ohu Kaimoana.

Te Runanganui o Ngāti Porou Chair Selwyn Parata says Moana's resignation was accepted and effective immediately.

CFO Allan Jensen was announced as the interim CEO in the meantime.

In a statement issued by the Runanga, Mr Moana was thanked for his ongoing contribution to Ngāti Porou.
