It has been a successful year of hockey for the Northland squad.
Not only did they win most of their games, but they are also coached by one of NZ's best hockey players.
According to Coach, Angeline Waetford, "It was a year of rebuilding and we wanted to get some culture back into our team and our goal was to make the top four, so really awesome that we made the final today."
Facing Auckland was by far their toughest game of the competition and it was clear to see why the girls in blue made it.
Although second place is still very much a great achievement, there is the hope of making the top spot come the New Year.
