NSW Māori North win Rohe title at Māori Rugby League tournament

New South Wales Māori North have won the Rohe title at this year's Māori Rugby League tournament held in Auckland over the weekend after thrashing Tihoi 48-6 in the final.

The Steve Watene Shield has found a new home this year in Sydney, Australia.

New South Wales Māori North steam-rolled their way to victory with eight tries to one.

Their efforts were rewarded with 10 players selected for the NZMRL Rohe side.

The motivation now is to make a return next year.

Their captain hopes next year he'll get to play against his region of origin, Waikato.

As for many of these players, they'll be returning to pre-season training in two weeks' time with their respective NRL clubs.

Clark has just extended his contact with the Bulldogs.
