NZ Black Sox prepare for World Championships- Tour schedule

The New Zealand Men's Softball team, The Golden Homes Black Sox, have recently arrived in Canada for the Softball World Championships to be held in Saskatoon.

In just a few hours time, the team will play their first match against local club champions, the Calgary Sox.

Ngāti Porou's Nathan Nukunuku, who made his debut as captain in 1999, will once again fulfill the role at the competition, while Mark Sorenson is the coach.

The Black Sox have won the World Championships six times, however, they have never won in Saskatoon.

Wednesday 10 June (CDT) : Double header vs Calgary Invitational

Thursday 11 June (CDT) : Game reviews/workout

Saturday 13 June & Sunday 14 June (CDT) : Stampede Invitational Tournament:

  • Saturday 11am
  • Saturday 5pm
  • Saturday 7pm
  • Sunday 1pm
  • Sunday: Final 3pm

Monday 15 June (CDT) : Travel to Kelowna

Wednesday 17 June (CDT) : Double header vs Kelowna Stars

Friday 19 June (CDT) : Tournament opening game 8:30am

Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June (CDT) : Bob Law memorial Challenge Tournament- Vancouver

Wednesday 24 June (CDT) : Games- Double header vs De Lisle

Friday June 26 (CDT) : Black Sox vs Argentina

Saturday June 27 (CDT) : Black Sox vs Great Britain

Sunday June 28 (CDT) : Black Sox vs Canada

Monday June 29 (CDT) : Black Sox vs Philippines
