Online extra - Henare prepares for Lionsgate wrestling debut

The Lionsgate Japanese wrestling event features the country's second tier competitors, who are aspiring to be in the big league. It's the perfect opportunity for pro-wrestler Aaron Henare to showcase his skills.

"It's a place where the new, what they call up in comers the young lions of japan debut. I am debuting against a guy called Quiet Storm from British Colombia, says Henare, "I thought wow this is something different it was a lot harder hitting and I wanted to peruse that."

Henry has made a quick trip home to renew his visa. We got the opportunity to chat with the Japan-based wrestler while he's in Auckland. In 2011, he was introduced to Japanese wrestling by Tongan pro-wrestler Fale "Bad Luck Fale" Simitaitoko.

"He (Fale) said look if you train with me and do set training every day I will help you get there."

He returns to Tokyo to put three months of intense training into action at Lionsgate this Thursday. Henare will return to New Zealand in November for the "On the Mat" charity event.
