Online extra - John to make debut on brother Joseph Parker’s event

This Saturday at the Vodafone events centre, Manukau another member of the Parker family will take centre ring. New Zealand's heavyweight Joseph Parker’s little brother John will make his professional boxing debut.

John has watched his older brother Joseph Parker's fast rise to the top. Now John feels it's his turn to take up the challenge. John, a former middleweight and light heavyweight amateur champion adds it was his older brother (Joseph Parker) who suggested he take this opportunity and fight again.

The Parker brothers are aiming to come out victorious on Saturday night. John still remembers the first fighting as amateur fighters, John was only 11-years-old while older brother Joseph was just 13-years-old.

This weekend John will fight 27-years-old Ratu Dawai from Christchurch over four rounds at a 85 kg catch-weight.
