Ories set up rugby 'nursery' for under fives

The Oriental-Rongtai Rugby Club has pumped out All Blacks Ma'a Nonu and Julian Savea, and former Wellington Lions prop, Whetu Henry, and they're confident that this is just the beginning, with the Miramar-based club setting up a rugby 'nursery' for under fives, to foster young talent coming through.

Co-ordinator of the rugby 'nursery', Mason Malagamaali'i says the programme builds confidence and skills amongst these youngsters, even if there are a few tears along the way.

Captain of the premier team, Whetu Henry says growing the ranks is integral to the success of the club, and the former Lions prop applauds the work being done in the junior teams.

Producing All Blacks, Hurricanes and Lions players, Ories punch well above their weight.

There's no doubt the youngsters will follow in the footsteps of their older club members, rising in the ranks to success in the future.
