Peters sisters together in Kiwi Ferns squad

For the very first time, a trio of siblings and former students of Te Kura Māori o Ngā Tapuwae have all made it into the Kiwi Ferns squad.

Being a part of the team has brought them closer together and they are very much looking forward to playing their first match against Australia next month.

This is the first time Hilda Peters has made the Kiwi Ferns squad. Her younger sisters, Kahurangi and Rona, have been chosen in past years, but they're all ecstatic this time round.

Rugby league players require a great amount of skill and it's clear to see that this Māori trio have skills that will greatly benefit the team.

It's not always easy having to play sports in the same team as your siblings, but Kahurangi and Rona say that having big sister Hilda in the team keeps them in line.

They're also hoping they'll continue playing alongside each another in years to come.

Their passion only means they will continue to achieve their goals.
