Prince Charles & Duchess Camilla to visit Tūrangawaewae Marae

In three days time, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will pay a visit to Tūrangawaewae Marae.

They will be greeted with a traditional welcome by Tūrangawaewae Marae.  They will meet with King Tuheitia then proceed into the ancestral house, Mahinārangi, to meet members of the Māori Royal household.

Once the formalities have concluded, the Royal visitors will then watch a flotilla of five war canoes on the Waikato River.

An estimated 300 guests have been invited to enjoy afternoon tea, to mix and mingle with the Royal guests.  This will be the first time the Duchess of Cornwall will pay a visit to Tūrangawaewae Marae.

The event is expected to commence on Sunday morning, with a livestream going to air and on the Māori Television website from 11:30am - 2:30pm.
