Race Relations push Government for a national apology

Race Relations Commissioner Dame Susan Devoy is continuing to push Government for a national apology and public inquiry into the abuse of children in state care.

In a speech to the Māori Women’s Welfare League National Conference, Dame Susan said the Government has to face up to historical horrific abuse of children and vulnerable adults in state institutions.

National President of the organisation Prue Kapua says this call is strongly supported by her organisation.
