Rangitoto take out NZ Secondary Schools Touch Tournament

The weather didn't seem to dampen the dedicated spirit of those who attended the final day of the NZ Secondary Schools Touch Tournament.

The first finals match was that of the girls from Rangitoto College and St Kentigern College.  At the beginning, St Kents was in fact the stronger team, dominating in their attacking which then lead to their first try.

There was a bit of confusion amongst the St Kentigern squad as they thought they had their defence line intact, however, Rangitoto then found the gap which would allow them to score and they did.

The quality of play by Rangitoto improved and after a short while they crossed the try line to even the score.

Rangitoto made use of the gap and was fortunate to score the final try which was also the winning point.

They are now the secondary school girl’s champions for 2014.
