Rotorua look to retain Men's title - NZ Secondary Schools Touch Comp

The New Zealand Secondary Schools Touch Competition kicked off in Auckland today.

The weather didn’t dampen the spirits of 47 schools who entered into the male, female and mixed sections.

One of the standout teams today was Rotorua, who currently hold the title in the Men's section. Over the last three months, the Rotorua squad has been training together to hopefully retain the title.

In Rotorua’s first match they took on Whangarei Boys. Despite the slippery track, Rotorua found the goal line easy in the first half.

Even though Whangarei boys scored three tries in the second half, Rotorua still came out on top with a 6-4 win.

The finals for all three sections will be played this Sunday.
